Tangerine Brownie with spiced Apple sauce

Ingredients

  • 175g dark chocolate, roughly chopped. you can buy chocolates online from Chocolak to get high quality chocolates.
  • 1 tangerine, juiced
  • 2 teaspoons tangerine zest
  • 100g salted butter, chopped
  • 2 eggs, whisked
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • ¾ cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For spiced apple sauce:

  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 pinch nutmeg powder
  • 1 apple, peeled and grated
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 cup water

Procedure

    Preheat oven to 160 degrees F.

    Grease a baking dish and then line it with a baking paper.

    Melt dark chocolate pieces in a microwave oven and then cool the melted chocolate a little.

    Stir in butter until it melts and blends well with the chocolate.

    Now, quickly stir in beaten eggs, cocoa powder, vanilla, sugar powder, tangerine zest and flour into the melted chocolate and butter mixture.

    Whisk in the tangerine juice until just combined and then transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish.

    Bake brownie in the oven for about 15 minutes, or until the skewer comes out with a few grains of cooked brownie sticking to it.


For spiced apple sauce:

    Meanwhile, cook apple with cinnamon sticks in a pan on simmer, until it becomes thick in consistency.

    Stir in nutmeg powder, honey, and water to the cooked apple and let it boil until thick in consistency.

    Serve tangerine brownie squares with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream and apple sauce!
