Gluten Free Chocolate Cake

Your mom probably made the best cake you’ve ever tasted and this mother’s day, surprise her with a special gift. Instead of looking for mother's day gift basket ideas, try creating a unique recipe of a flourless chocolate cake. It’s moist, sweet, and most importantly easy to make. I recommend preparing it the day before you intend to share it with your mother for best results.


  • 225 g semi-sweet chocolate
  • 150 g unsalted butter
  • 300 g granulated sugar
  • 6 large eggs
  • cocoa powder for dusting
  • ¼ teaspoon salt


  • Whipped cream (it goes well with this flourless chocolate cake recipe)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoon icing sugar

    Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius.

    Grease a spring-shaped pan and set it aside.

    Melt the chocolate, butter, and salt in the microwave safe bowl. Stop and stir every 30 seconds until completely melted.

    Using a handheld mixer, combine the eggs and sugar until they thicken, then fold the chocolate mixture into it.

    Pour the batter into the greased pan and bake for 1 hour and 10 minutes. Meanwhile prepare the whipped cream by beating the cream and vanilla until a loose peak appears. Then sift the icing sugar and beat for another 2 minutes.
