A classic dessert known to everyone, found in almost every bakery, and loved by millions is the chocolate pudding cake. What makes this recipe different than others is the fact that we’re using dark chocolate on our pudding cake layer to add a unique flavor to the regular version of the cake. Once you try this recipe, you will know how to taste chocolate like an expert to judge the quality of any bakery or dessert shop. Personally I prefer to serve it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, but I have learned that coffee flavored ice cream works like a charm too.
Ingredients
- 200 grams all-purpose flour
- ½ cup of sugar
- 30 grams cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ cup of milk
- 2 tablespoon of oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 50 grams of dark chocolate
- Pinch of salt

Procedure
- 1
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
- 2
In a square-shaped pan, mix flour, white sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Slowly pour the milk, oil, and vanilla and mix everything together using a fork until the batter is smooth.
- 3
Spread the made batter evenly on the pan and create a top layer with brown sugar and broken pieces of dark chocolate.
- 4
Boil 1 ½ cup of water and pour them on top of the batter.
- 5
Bake for 35-40 minutes, let the pan cool down for another 15 minutes before slicing the chocolate pudding cake into even squares.
- 6
Serve with ice cream on the spot and keep it in the fridge to make these cake pieces part of a good dark chocolate gift box that you can offer on special occasions.
