  • ½ a cup or 125ml of heavy cream
  • 9 oz or 250g of chocolate Tavoletta "Vista Alegre"
  • 6 oz or 175g of peanut butter
  • ½ a tsp of vanilla extract
  • 5 oz or 150g peanuts, coarsely chopped
  • Sesame seeds, chocolate chips for spreading the chocolate balls

    Warm the cream and peanut butter in a saucepan on medium heat (be careful not to boil it) and add the broken chocolate and stir until the chocolate is melted.

    Remove from the stove; add coarsely chopped peanuts and vanilla extract. Let it cool a bit.

    Form the balls with your hands and coat them with roasted sesame seeds. Keep them in a cool dark place in the box until serving (not in the fridge because they will become sticky).

    Sift all of the flour, cocoa powder, red food coloring, bicarbonate of soda and thebaking powder, and fold in gently to blend. Divide the mixture between both previously prepared sandwich tins and bake in the oven for thirty minutes.

    Remove both cakes from the oven and let them cool for 5 minutes.

    Form the balls with your hands and coat them with roasted sesame seeds. Keep them in a cool dark place in the box until serving (not in the fridge because they will become sticky).

    Note: if you don’t like sesame seeds, you can coat them with some more chocolate, use your imagination and you will get lovely and unique truffles.
