A very popular dessert in South Korea, Japan, Macau, and Hong Kong - this snack is based on a shaved ice mixture served with a selection of toppings including chopped fruit, condensed milk, chocolate, rice cake pieces, and the famous—red bean paste. But the ingredients are unlimited—you can choose to have nuts, granola, whipped cream, oreven a scoop of flavored frozen yogurt along with your bowl of Bingsu. With such a large choice of toppings,i always decide to go for chocolates especially as it’san exotic dessert, and for that particular reason I always order chocolates online from vendors like chocolak.com who also give you chocolate gifts delivery. Be careful though, the serving of this Bingsu is huge so you might as well bring some friendsto share it with you.
Ingredients
- 100 grams dark chocolate & you can buy chocolates online from Chocolak to get high quality chocolates.
- 1 cup of low-fat milk
- 2 tablespoons condensed milk
- 4 teaspoons almond flakes
- 3 tablespoons of sweetened red bean paste
- 2 rice cakes
- 4 strawberries, sliced
Procedure
- 1
Mix the milk and sweetened condensed milk in a measuring cup with a spout. (So it’s easier to pour out). Pour out the milk mixture onto an ice tray. Freeze it (for a few hours) until it becomes ice blocks.
- 2
Take out the frozen milk blocks and place them into a food processor. Pulse the milk cubes (for about 15 seconds) until their texture becomes similar to snow.
- 3
In a bowl, Place some of the snow-like milk sorbet, and sprinkle 2 teaspoons of the almonds on top to cover it. Lay down another layer of the frozen milk and top it with the remaining 2 teaspoons of almond flakes.
- 4
Break the rice crackers into small pieces and place them on top of the mixture along with 1 tablespoon red bean paste.
- 5
Use the remaining frozen milk to cover the red bean paste and finally top it with the strawberries and remaining red bean paste.
- 6
Melt the dark chocolate by placing it in a microwave-safe bowl and heating it for thirty second bursts while stirring at every pause. Once melted, set aside and let it cool at air temperature.
- 7
Lightly drizzle the melted chocolate and place in freezer for 30 minutes before serving.
- 8
Remember to consume this dessert at one sitting as you don’t want it to melt and lose its texture and flavor.
